hello to 50 hr work week...(grumble grumble...) and a thankful heart for the work

hello to family being (almost) all together for our last Christmas before my little sis gets married

hello to my darling katie coming home from college

hello to seeing friends & family

hello to taking the time to remember that our Wonderful Counselor, our Mighty God, our Everlasting Father & our Prince of Peace has come to save us

{i am really loving the 'hello, monday' link up! it makes me stop & take time to think about what i want to do and what i'm looking forward to doing throughout the week. it's a good way to ease me into making lists, without getting overwhelmed. [unlike my sister who LOVES lists...] i may not be thrilled about everything on this list [is anyone every thrilled about 14hr work days??] but it all reminds me to be thankful for what i have. and that is always a good thing}

Christmastime PSA

We interrupt this week's lack of posts due to Laura's insane work schedule (she is getting ready to leave for a 11+ hr work day) to bring you this announcement:

My little sister is on her way home RIGHT NOW!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

You may now go about your day

Thankful Thursday

Last Wednesday night, Tammy Hodge (@tamhodge) tweeted a question that I felt compelled to answer. She asked, "What are you thankful for now that you didn't think you'd ever be thankful for?"
I had just come home from my 10-5pm shift, Day 2 of 7 working days in a row. I was heading to bed early to get some extra sleep before my Thanksgiving shift and the dreaded Black Friday Madness. It was so easy to answer her question. "A part-time job in retail." Especially for this anti-shopping girl, I added to myself.
The fact that I could admit to be being thankful for my job was and still is pretty huge for me. Tammy took it one step further when she responded with this: "A job is a huge thing these days. Good for you!"
She reminded me once again that even if I didn't like my job (mostly, I do), it IS something to be thankful for. That's the one of things I love about Twitter. It is one more opportunity for the Body of Christ to encourage each other, even if we haven't met.

Another thing I am thankful for today is this girl:

...and by "this girl" I mean the girl in the veil...
My sister planned, organized and had Thanksgiving at her house this year! She even sent out the most darling invitations for it! AND she bought little pumpkins for everyone to take home. Look out Martha! I got to dinner late, thanks to my shift at Old Navy, but everything was wonderful and I got to spend some time with her after everyone else left. (Oh and Jason too, but after dinner he was watching the Ravens game...so he was pretty busy.) We talked a bunch, which we haven't gotten to do recently. We talked about work, life, family, Christmas. She even offered to call me the next morning at 2AM so I wouldn't over sleep my alarm. I mean how sweet is that?? (She really did call me...her message on my phone is the FUNNIEST thing ever!)
While I'm listing things to be thankful for, I need to mention my love, coffee. We are best of friends again and I have probably been drinking too much of it in recent days. But that's ok. I'm also thankful for a few days off this week! I love getting paychecks, but there is something so peaceful about sleeping in until 8am. (Or, in Tuesday's case, 11am...)

I know I have so much more to be thankful for, but those are some of the top hitters this week. What about you? What are you thankful for this week?
